Here's something to throw into the debate about feminism and sex workers - a video compiled by a number of women all working in the sex industry who refute the notion that they are pawns in a patriarchal game being played out at their expense.
The women in the video make clear that they certainly do not see themselves as victims and argue that they have a right to choose what they do with their own bodies. Just because sex work is harmful to some women does not mean it is harmful to all seems to be the gist of the argument.
That, objectively, is true but I just wonder how many women within the sex industry made a free choice to do so and how many did not. (I have no idea of the answer, by the way).
You can watch the video on a blog called Heresy Corner and read the accompanying post which accuses against sex-industry feminists of inflating trafficking figures to reinforce their own ideological beliefs.
