Female students from ethnic minority backgrounds in Stoke-on-Trent claim cash cuts could force them out of education.
They have been studying at community centres and in church halls but now Stoke-on-Trent College has ended its contract with the Community Partnership Learning.
The Sentinel reports that the college is centralising alternative provision but the women say some will not be able to travel to venues outside their immediate community, while others say their husbands will not allow them to be educated in a mixed-sex environment.
Taj Bibby, of CPL, said:"Many of the women have large families. They could come to classes in the community because it was within walking distance of their home and the schools their children attend. Now, a lot of the students will not continue with their education.
"For some of the women, it was the first time they had got involved in education. They were learning English, or various skills".
